Will we get the Maglev, afterall?

Remember our class discussion about what economic stimulus funds Pennsylvania will receive? There is now talk that we might get the funding previously set aside for the Maglev project, after all. This would significantly change the way people in Westmoreland and Allegheny counties live, work, and play. What positive and negative externalities would the Maglev project bring to the area?

PSSAs Week!

This week in Civics:

Monday: We will have a guest from Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week to speak about an excellent summer opportunity for students.

Tuesday: If you want to read ahead, we will be covering Chapter 5, Section 2 ("The Struggle for Ratification"). You must complete the section assessment questions on page 123.

Wednesday and Thursday we will be working on completing this Constitution Scavenger Hunt worksheet (on Thursday we will have time to go over the answers and talk about several of the Amendments.)

Friday: I am giving you time in class to begin working on flashcards for the Amendments. We will also cover Chapter 5, Section 3 (and you will be quizzed on that material on Monday.) Section assessment questions on page 131 are due at the end of class on Friday.
